Bio

Influenced by earlier alternative bands, and a broad range of musical styles, Fight Nice’s sound harkens back to the heyday of what was then called college rock, with subtly intellectual lyrics, solid-state distortion, a variety of blues- and rock-based song styles, and DIY production that is a labor of love.

Fight Nice is an rock trio formed in Chicago, fronted by Tim Wanish on guitar and vocals, with Dean Dunakin on bass, and Brian Lerch on drums. Wanish is known for his profuse songwriting, with hundreds of songs scribbled in notebooks, later tempered and arranged together by the group. Dunakin is a studio rat, with a passion for recording and producing. Lerch is a devoted rhythmist and avid student of music history.

Fight Nice has aggressively pursued live performance opportunities at clubs in and around Chicago, willing to play as much as possible as they pay their dues. At times, they road trip and play spots at other midwestern locales, soaking up Americana and the sights and sounds of the current music scene. With all due respect, Fight Nice would like to get their songs stuck in your head.
